A Message to Our Valued Owners:

We would like to thank you for your selection of a Subaru vehicle. We take pride in our products and are committed to your continued satisfaction.

Subaru of America is initiating a service program for certain 2021 model year Crosstrek vehicles equipped with a 2.0L engine and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Subaru has determined that the electronic control module (ECM) programming in the vehicles covered by this service program erroneously includes certain logic applicable to manual transmission vehicles.

As a result, under certain driving conditions, the ECM may detect a certain diagnostic trouble code for the control module processor, the check engine warning light will illuminate, and the vehicle may go into failsafe mode. If the vehicle goes into failsafe mode, the driver will experience a reduced amount of power.
